Professional Licenses and Security Clearances

In general, filing bankruptcy does not affect professional licenses. We recommend that you ask the licensing bureau for your profession to be certain, however.
We also are frequently asked if bankruptcy will cause a person to lose his or her security clearance. Generally, bankruptcy does not affect security clearances for military personnel. However, every case is different and you should check with your branch of the military.
